New Delhi: Former bureaucrat Arun Goyalwas appointed as The commissioner will take charge in the office on Monday.
Former Punjab cadre IAS officer Arun Goyal was on Saturday appointed as the Election Commissioner.
The Minister of Law and Justice notified the appointment made by President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday.
It said, “The President has appointed Arun Goel, IAS (Retd) (PB:1985) as Election Commissioner in the Election Commission with effect from the date he assumes office.”
Arun Goyal took voluntary retirement from the post of Heavy Industries Secretary on Friday.
He will join the Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey In the Election Commission.
Sushil Chandra Retired as Chief Election Commissioner in May this year.
