Government notice to Amazon on voluntary exit program

Bengaluru: Union Labor Ministry has sent a notice to the e-commerce giant Amazon On Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) it announced for some of its employees in India. VSP The announcement was made after Amazon plans to reduce its workforce by 10,000 globally.

Amazon’s note on VSP states that eligible employees will have the opportunity to voluntarily resign from their jobs in exchange for VSP benefits. VSP is to be submitted through smart form from 16th November to 30th November. VSP consists of a lump sum payment equal to 22 weeks’ basic pay, plus one week’s basic pay for every six months of service, severance as per insurance benefit policy or equivalent insurance premium amount up to 20 weeks’ pay, plus six months Medical insurance coverage for.
