Soon after the incident, ADGP (Law and Order) Alok Kumar, referring to the incident, suspected it to be a low-intensity blast. “The FSL team will be able to conclude on the basis of their investigation whether it was a blast or something else,” he said. For now, we suspect it is a low-intensity blaze. Two people are burnt. The driver is a resident of Mangaluru. The identity of the passenger is yet to be ascertained.”
Two people, including an autorickshaw driver, were injured when a moving autorickshaw caught fire near Nagauri under Kankanadi Town police station area.
A pressure cooker and something like a burnt gas stove were found in the autorickshaw.
A team of top officials of city police visited the spot and started investigation.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, who is leading the investigation, visited the hospital where the injured are being treated. Sources said the passenger kept changing his statement.
