More human remains have been discovered in an apartment less than 24 hours after police opened a freezer to find a box containing an infant and fetus.
Boston detectives were seen removing mysterious boxes from the house of horrors all afternoon as they investigate the tragic discovery.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said police responded to a call to search the home at 838 East Broadway around 2 p.m. Thursday.
When they arrived, officers immediately found the infant inside the freezer, prompting them to look into the apparent crime.
The next day, the medical examiner was seen returning to the apartment with two boxes in tow, according to Boston 25 News.
The officers reportedly took the boxes in and out of the apartment.
He was covered with a blue blanket at the exit and being held by two men, video footage from local outlets shows.
At the same time police reportedly confirmed the possibility that additional human remains had been discovered.
“Disgusting. It’s horrible,” a bystander told the outlet.
“I don’t understand how anyone could do this to any child or child at any stage of life.”
While information is limited at this time, local residents reportedly said they had no clue that something so horrific could have happened in the apartment.
Another resident said, “Just people coming and going. I think I’ve seen a handful of people coming and going, but never anything suspicious or scary.”
The building is sealed off while police continue to investigate this horrific discovery.
