MSNBC “The ReadOut” host Joy Reid and The Nation correspondent Eli Mistel put forward the theory that Justice Samuel Alito leaked the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade in May.
Reed reported on an allegation that Alito leaked a 2014 Supreme Court decision regarding Hobby Lobby to right-wing activists. Both Alito and the woman who was accused have denied the allegations, although Democratic congressmen have proposed launching an investigation against Justice in response.
While the report was not verified, Reid and Mistle implied that it more than confirmed that Alito was behind the infamous Dobbs leak.
“On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being ‘no, he didn’t do it’ and 10 being ‘oh, yes, he did,’ how likely is it that Alito was the one who leaked the Dobbs decision?” ?” Reed asked.

“Does this microphone go up to 11, Joey?” Mistle joked.
He continued, “The Supreme Court has been an ethical disaster since John Roberts took office in 2005. The Supreme Court is the only court in the country that operates without ethics rules. Getting out since they came in. Over, the conservative side, because if you’re part of the Federalist Society industrial complex, it’s a lot easier to get access to these judges.”
Reed further claimed that the leak was done primarily as a way to prepare the “right-wing infrastructure” for the result.
“You can add one more thing, because they also lie. First, the other part of this is that it’s clear that the leaks are designed to allow the right-wing infrastructure to PR before they take away these rights.” gone. And sending us back to the 19th century. They want to give them a PR opportunity to get ahead of it so they can get their message across. I feel like they did when they were being confirmed. “

Earlier in the segment, Reid also mocked Alito’s statement while denying the allegations.
It is unknown whether he issued the statement while twirling a sinister mustache, but we do know that being the hand that quashed Roe v. Wade embraced Alito as he gleefully and condescendingly writing his Dobbs decision that overturned half a century of precedent, called Roe grossly mistaken and a weak argument,” Reid said.
His comments echoed his suggestion in August that Alito declare the “state” the owner of women’s bodies, the basis of his decision.

“And what Alito said is, your state owns your body. The minute you get pregnant, your state owns your body and your state can tell you what to do with it. Sorry, Fate. No. You are not your own boss,” Reed said.
