A 20-year-old driver who allegedly lost control of a truck that struck and killed a girl attending a Christmas parade in Raleigh, North Carolina, was identified by police later in the evening.
The truck was pulling a float that was in a parade behind the girls with the CC & Company Dance Complex.
The driver was identified as Landon Christopher Glass, 20. He was arrested for motor vehicle, reckless and reckless, improper equipment, unsafe movement, and carrying a firearm in a parade.

A woman who witnessed the accident reported, “The girls kept dancing, and then as the truck passed through them, they separated very quickly. There were other dancers beyond this group. I think we were all thinking that Is it part of the parade?” WRAL-TV.
Witnesses said that Glass was yelling that he could not control the pickup before it crashed.

Another person said that he saw the girl lying on the ground covered with a blanket. Others reported hearing screeching tires, screeching and vehicle horns at the time of the crash.
Fellow dancer Olivia Bruce, 14, told the News & Observer: “We started dancing in the parade and then all of a sudden, we just heard a lot of voices.” “And when we turned back, we saw the truck almost on its back, so we turned,” Bruce said.
