Ivanka Trump has distanced herself from her father’s administration since leaving office.
She “hated all the criticism and threats” that came with politics, The New York Post reported.
The post explained that Ivanka Trump is unhappy about losing friends and just wants a “normal life”.
The New York Post reported on Thursday that Ivanka Trump was unhappy about how her friends had “turned their backs” on her during her father’s administration.
An anonymous source told the Post, “Ivanka hated all the criticism and threats and was unhappy about how many of her friends turned their backs on her.”
“They think it’s bad for their family… and their circle of friends is negative in general,” the source said.
The source said: “She wants as normal a life as she can arrange for herself and her family.”
The report comes after Ivanka Trump was notably absent from the launch of her father’s presidential campaign in Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday. However, her husband and Trump’s former presidential advisor, Jared Kushner, was in attendance.
Trump’s eldest daughter said in a statement that she loves her father “very much” but no longer plans to be in the political arena.
“This time, I am prioritizing my children and personal life as a family. I do not plan to join politics,” the statement said.
Ivanka Trump and Kushner served as unpaid senior advisors to Trump during his administration. Despite his limited political experience, he exerted significant influence on Trump’s policy initiatives.
During her time in the White House, several former friends of Ivanka Trump spoke of breaking ties with her over her father’s presidency and political stances.
Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, said in September that she used to be friends with Ivanka Trump until “she turned to the dark side.”
Ivanka Trump’s childhood best friend Lysandra Ohrstrom said in an essay last year that their differing stances on social issues drove them apart.
“I think it’s past time that one of the many critics of Ivanka’s childhood come forward – if only to ensure that she will never truly recover from her father’s decision to tie the knot.” Ohrstrom wrote.
Ivanka has increasingly distanced herself from her father’s administration since leaving office.
In June, she told investigators from the House Select Committee that she “accepted” Attorney General William Barr’s analysis that there was no major fraud during the 2020 election, in line with her father’s long-standing position. Even though it was stolen from him.
At the end of Trump’s presidency, Kushner and Ivanka Trump left Washington DC and moved to Miami, Florida with their three young children.
