At least five people were killed and at least 18 others were injured in a mass shooting in Colorado early Sunday, according to police.
Colorado Springs police responded to the shooting around midnight local time. The incident took place at Club Q, an LGBTQ+ club on North Academy Blvd.
The suspected gunman was taken into custody. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is on the scene to assist.
A spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Fire Department told FOX 21 that 34 firefighters and 11 ambulances were on the scene.
