Chennai: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)CRPF) to practice the colonial orderly system, which was claimed to have been abolished in 2008, the Madras HC has directed the Central government to ensure that the practice is stopped immediately.
“The Government servant, who is paid for serving as an orderly, should be recovered immediately from the concerned authority by following the procedures. Recovery of salary should be in addition to departmental action”, Justice SM Subramaniam Told.
The court passed this order on a petition filed by M MuthuA CRPF constable who was dismissed for allegedly refusing to perform systematic duty.
While quashing the dismissal, the HC said, “Under no circumstances shall the trained uniformed personnel be used to do menial jobs or attend to their personal functions at the residences of higher officers.”
