Twisted Metal is a beloved PlayStation franchise that first launched on the original PlayStation and has since shown up on nearly every console. The games – which include all the top vehicle mechanics and moments – are fun, sometimes gory, and also fun to play with friends and family.

Thanks to Peacock, fans of the series will soon get to see a live-action adaptation of the weird gaming franchise. The show – which is being written by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – is described as a 30-minute episodic comedy.

Twisted Metal TV Series Release Date: When Is The Show Coming?

The release date for Twisted Metal TV series is yet to be decided. However, showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith revealed via Twitter that the show has wrapped production in late August 2022.

Twisted Metal TV Series Casting Details: Who’s Ready To Star?

The Twisted Metal TV series is shaping up to be a fantastic cast filled with A-list actors. Marvel’s Anthony Mackie will play John Doe, while Will Arnett will lend his voice to play the iconic Joker Sweet Tooth. The character will be played physically by wrestler Samoa Joe.

The rest of the cast confirmed so far includes the following actors:

Based on early reports and comments from the Twisted Metal cast and crew, it appears that the show will be heavily inspired by the games. In a recent interview with IGN, Carter Swan, a senior producer at PlayStation Studios, offered some insight into what fans can expect from the TV show.

“You have to have cars, you have to have a post-apocalyptic setting,” Swan said. “There are a lot of characters that we thought were great. Obviously, Sweet Tooth has been announced and I think it will be a very iconic character on the show. Played by wrestler Samoa Joe, he will be portrayed by Will Arnett. The voices are being given, who did an incredible job. When you think of that game, the first thing that comes to my mind is the ice cream truck, that’s the piece that’s been in the market for so many years.
